To impart quality education in Electrical Engineering and bring-up professionally competent engineers.

Program Outcomes (POs)-B. Tech

(Components indicative of the graduate’s potential to acquire competence to practice at the appropriate level)

 
  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

  9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)-B. Tech

PSO1: Apply engineering knowledge to analyse, model, design and operate modern systems for generation, transmission, distribution and control of electrical power.

PSO2: Design, develop and test modern hardware and software systems for signal processing, measurement, instrumentation and control applications.

PO1: An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems.

PO2:An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.

PO3:An ability to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area of Power System, at a level higher than the requirements in the bachelor program of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

PO4:Ability to use modern simulation tools for modeling, design and development related to the area of power and energy systems.

PO5:Ability to incorporate modern control techniques for power system management.

PO6:Practice academic, research and professional ethics, upholding integrity in execution of tasks.

PEO3:To develop the ability to work as a team in professional and social settings, and express ideas clearly and convincingly, in written and oral forms.

PO3:Ability to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the areas of Navigation, Guidance and Control Systems at a level higher than the requirements in the bachelor program of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

PO4:Ability to develop and design navigation, guidance and control subsystems in aerospace and robotic applications.

PO5:Ability to use modern simulation tools and hardware for the modeling and design of navigation, guidance and control subsystems.

PO6: Practice academic, research and professional ethics, upholding integrity in execution of tasks.

PO4:Ability to use modern simulation tools and digital control hardware for modelling, design and development of prototypes of electrical machines and drive systems.

PO5:Ability to incorporate modern control techniques, power conversion methods and energy resources for drive systems.
